TASC has a potential opportunity for a mid-level engineer to provide System Engineering services in an operational environment. Position is located in Alice Springs Australia. The contract provides Systems Engineering Technical Advisory (SETA) support to the Chief/Systems Engineering Branch (C/SEB). This is a 2-year (approximate) assignment with the potential to be extended an additional 2 years. Tentative start date is October 2014, with relocation to the Site in the December timeframe after completing Government Customer requirements. Relocation assistance is provided as well as housing, cost of living and other allowances for the duration of the tour. The successful candidate will provide systems engineering technical expertise to the C/SEB, in coordination with a multi-contractor engineering team, for several complex real-time high speed data processing systems. There will be daily coordination with Government Customer staff, our on-site team leader and many contractor personnel from several companies. An understanding of the project life cycle is required. Additional responsibilities include requirements review (i.e., verify good requirements to ensure that the contractor is building to measurable / verifiable requirements), concept of operation review, participation in preliminary and critical design reviews and contributing to various installation working groups. The successful candidate will be responsible for witnessing tests and shepherding new systems into the facility, ensuring that they meet facility standards. General tasks also include providing technical assistance for fact finding, studies, action item responses, long-term system planning and documentation review. Contract requires qualified candidate and any accompanying dependents (e.g., spouse, children), if any, to successfully complete physical and psychological examinations required by the Government Customer for living and working in a remote. Required:
Active TS/SCI clearance; with ability to obtain a CI Polygraph
Bachelor's degree
Minimum 10 years relevant experience
Successful prior Systems Engineering experience in the Intelligence Community
Possess the technical breadth of knowledge to identify and explain complex issues and provide recommendations to a broad range of operational, technical, programmatic, training and system installation issues.
Strong written and oral communication skills
Able to work independently on multiple tasks at once
Able to occasionally work after normal duty hours (evenings/weekends) to support high priority activities
Able to conduct business travel (
Desired:
Prior experience supporting 24/7 operational environments
Prior experience with the Customer's missions, operational systems and organization is strongly preferred
Knowledge of the Customer's processes, policies and standards
Knowledge of the enterprise tools (e.g., RFC review, TIER, DR tracking, etc.)
